Darin & Duana Sargent,
Lead Pastors
In the spring of 2005, Darin and
Duana Sargent moved to Escondido
to take over the leadership of
North Point Worship Center.
NPWC, formerly known as Truth
Tabernacle, was faithfully lead
by Pastor Jimmy and Dayna Jones
for close to 22 years. The
Jones’ sacrifice and leadership
provided the platform on which
the Sargent’s have been able to
build upon and NPWC is seeing
amazing growth. With three kids
in tow, Carson, Ashton and
Averie, the Sargent’s are known
for their enthusiasm about the
work of God. Darin is a
respected nationwide preacher
and teacher and they are both
loved for their energy and
desire to see the Kingdom of God
advance in this present age. He
enjoys golfing, reading, jazz
and life. Duana is a wonderful
wife and mother to her children.
Involved in various ministries
in the church, Duana is a
blessing to all that is going on
at The Point. The Sargent’s are
visionaries and we are blessed
to have them leading The Point.

Davis and Monique
McGovern, Student Pastors
The McGoverns joined the staff
at The Point in May of 2005. As
pastor of student ministries,
they oversee the Junior High,
High
School and College Ministries.
David brings with him 9 years
experience in student ministry.
He is a popular speaker and has a
passion for using many methods
to bring young people closer to
God. Monique and David were
married in Los Angeles in May of
2005. She is a nurse, and on her
spare time enjoys shopping,
reading and decorating their
home. He is an L.A. Dodger
Fanatic and enjoys golfing,
basketball, strong coffee and a
good book.

RJ and Valerie
Aycock, Music Pastors
RJ and Valerie have served the
music department at The Point
since 2003. RJ came to The Point
from Stockton, CA where he was
enrolled in the Music Program at
Christian Life College. Valerie
is from Denver, CO and has
quickly come to enjoy the San
Diego winters. They were married
in September of 2005 and are a
vital part of the ministry team
here at NPWC. Valerie serves as
the church secretary and teaches
Sunday school. They both serve
on the Student Ministry Team and
are appreciated for their
talents and gifts they have been
blessed with. When they aren’t
singing, RJ enjoys reading a
good book along with a great cup
of coffee. Valerie enjoys
cooking, scrap booking and spa
days. They are a tremendous
blessing to The Point.
